Lecanto, FL – a 23 year old Crystal River resident was hurled from his motorcycle on Corporate Oaks Drive at about 10:00 PM officials said. He was going too fast for a corner and locked up the brakes which sent him and the motorcycle tumbling at speeds over 50mph.
“Statistically, he should have died,” his fiance said. “He wasn’t wearing his helmet.”
“It’s a miracle he survived – and was almost able to walk away. He refused to get in the ambulance because he was uninsured. That was impressive, and you just felt so bad for him,” one resident was quoted as saying.
If any of you guessed, this Crystal River man is me, Buster! I’ll be in a wheelchair for about a month, and about 2 months total recovery time – but take it from me – God is good, but wear a helmet anyway!
